8月5日，國家主席習近平向新冠疫苗合作國際論壇首次會議發表書面致辭。

習近平指出，今年5月，我在全球健康峰會上宣布了中國支持全球團結抗疫的五項舉措，其中包括倡議設立新冠疫苗合作國際論壇，由疫苗生產研發國家、企業、利益攸關方一道探討推進全球疫苗公平合理分配。
At the Global Health Summit this May, Xi announced five measures to support global solidarity against COVID-19. These include the proposal of setting up an international forum on vaccine cooperation for vaccine-developing and producing countries, companies, and other stakeholders to explore ways of promoting fair and equitable distribution of vaccines worldwide.

"I hope this forum will promote the accessibility and fair distribution of vaccines around the world, strengthen solidarity and cooperation in developing countries, and make new contributions for an early victory against the pandemic," he said.

習近平強調，中國始終秉持人類衛生健康共同體理念，向世界特別是廣大發展中國家提供疫苗，積極開展合作生產。這是疫苗作為全球公共產品的應有之義。

中國會繼續盡己所能，幫助廣大發展中國家應對疫情。今年全年，中國將努力向全球提供20億劑疫苗。中國決定向“新冠疫苗實施計劃”捐贈1億美元，用于向發展中國家分配疫苗。
China will strive to provide 2 billion COVID-19 vaccine doses to the world throughout this year and offer 100 million US dollars to COVAX. The 100 million US dollars to COVAX will mainly go to the distribution of vaccines to developing countries, he said, adding that China would do its best to help developing countries cope with the COVID-19 pandemic.
