Thursday in a bid to strengthen ties between the
former Cold War rivals and to quadruple trade now worth about $20 billion
a year.
The two leaders were upbeat, noting Beijing and Moscow had progressed
on several issues in recent years. Chinese President Hu Jintao's four-day
trip reflects the strategic importance Beijing places on ties with Russia.
"Our countries signed a strategic accord on cooperation and resolved
our border issues. Russia and China are actively cooperating on the
international arena," Hu noted in talks late Thursday with Putin.

forecast（一份樂觀的商業預測）。此外，upbeat用作音樂術語表示“弱拍；向上揮舞”，尤指一個小節的最后一拍。
胡錦濤指出，近年來中俄戰略協作伙伴關系取得了令人滿意的成果。兩國在經貿、能源、投資、科技、教育、文化等領域的合作及地方和民間交往日益擴大和深化，中俄戰略協作伙伴關系的內涵不斷充實，給兩國人民帶來巨大的實際利益。
